Terms of use

Provided in English as a courtesy; German law governs.

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of Meta Awards, operated by Serdar Freimoser, München. By using the site you accept them.

2. The service

Meta Awards is a free, ad-free reference: an aggregated record of Game of the Year awards with statistics and articles built on it. There is no guarantee of availability, completeness or fitness for any particular purpose, and the service may change or end at any time.

3. No warranty for the data

Award records, game facts and sales figures are compiled from archives and public sources and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong despite careful checking — the methodology explains exactly how they are produced and where the limits are. The authoritative source for any award remains the outlet or ceremony that gave it. Verify independently before relying on a number.

4. Copyright and trademarks

Game titles, logos and cover artwork are the property of their respective owners. Game descriptions are used under CC BY-SA 4.0 (Wikipedia), structured facts under CC0 (Wikidata); sources are named inline. The site's own design, code and editorial texts are protected by copyright.

5. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for injury to life, body or health, and for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of free service. Any further liability is excluded.

6. Changes and final provisions

These terms may be updated as the site evolves; the current version is always published here. German law applies. Should a provision be or become invalid, the remaining provisions stay unaffected. Version: 23 August 2026.
