2. The essentials

Meta Awards is a static, read-only site. There is no account, no login, no comment form and no newsletter — and no ads. You cannot submit personal data here, and we ourselves build no visitor profiles. Pages are plain HTML and CSS served as files.

3. Hosting and server logs

Like any web server, the host records requests — IP address, timestamp, requested page, referrer and browser identifier — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). These logs are not combined with other data and are not used to profile visitors.

4. Cookies, local storage and consent management

No cookie is required to read this site. We set no cookies. If you use the light/dark switch in the header, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage (ma-theme) — a functional setting that never leaves your device and contains no personal data.

5. Game cover images

Some season pages display a cover image of the winning game. These images are currently loaded from an external image host (Imgur), which technically receives your IP address and browser identifier when the image loads — as with any embedded image on the web. No other data is transmitted. We plan to serve these images ourselves.

6. Web analytics and advertising

Currently there are none.

No analytics, no ads, no embeds, no fonts or scripts from other servers — this site makes zero third-party requests as configured today. The sections for Google Analytics and AdSense appear here automatically as soon as their IDs are set in the site config, and the consent banner switches on with them.

7. External links

Pages here link to Wikipedia, Wikidata, the Internet Archive and to the media outlets whose awards are listed. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for a controller in Bavaria that is the BayLDA (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht). For anything concerning this site, use the contact details in the legal notice.

9. Version

This policy reflects the site as configured on 23 August 2026. It is regenerated with every build, so a configuration change (for example enabling analytics) updates this page automatically.
